The M3-EXT module and its optional auxiliary modules provide a multi-functional, tactical, fanless, ruggedized, small-form, man-pack, or vehicle-mounted solution that includes an embedded router (Cisco 5915 ESR) and switch (Cisco ESS 2020) with an optional Lithium Ion battery. It provides data network capabilities in scenarios where enterprise networks do not exist. It is designed to minimize size, weight, and power (SWaP) while maximizing user capability, by providing the user with a man-portable modular network solution that integrates existing communication architectures. These modules support data, voice and video while ensuring interoperability by leveraging ubiquitous network technologies and protocols.
The M3-EXT-MOD1 allows for the flexible deployment of the M3-EXT product line providing a single bay for a variety of auxiliary modules, M3-EXT-COMP1, M3-EXT-LMR, M3-EXT-MANET-TW, M3-EXT-RTR, M3-EXT-SW, and any future modules. It can be mounted as part of a M3-EXT stack or employed remotely or as a stand-alone module. It can be powered directly with an AC/DC input cable or via a 802.3at PoE Ethernet cable.
The M3-EXT-MOD2 provides for the flexible deployment of M3-EXT product line providing dual module bays for a variety of auxiliary modules, M3-EXT-COMP1, M3-EXT-LMR, M3-EXT-MANET-TW, M3-EXT-RTR, M3-EXT-SW, and any future modules. It can be mounted as part of a M3-EXT stack or employed remotely or be used as a stand-alone module. The M3-EXT-MOD2 has flexible power options with the ability to be powered from direct DC input or an optional battery.
The M3-EXT-FOM contains a fiber optic switch used for extending connections for distances up to 120 KM. It is a Layer 2 unmanaged switch that can be stand-alone or stacked, using a M3-EXT-PB1 or M3-EXT-PB2 connector, with a M3-EXT for additional switch and router capabilities. It features one (1) 1 GbB copper port, and eight (8) SFP single or multi-mode (e.g., LX/LH, SX, or ZX) transceiver ports.
